EDUCATION

Dr. Anderson was born and raised in Waseca and later moved to Mankato, where she graduated from Mankato West. She attended the University of Minnesota and earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the School of Dentistry. She was commissioned into the United States Air Force as a recipient of a Health Professions Scholarship and completed her Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at Wilford Hall Medical Center at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.

EMPLOYMENT HISTORY

Dr. Anderson served more than nine years on active duty in the United States Air Force. She was Chief of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Royal Air Force Lakenheath in England and later joined the training staff in the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency program at Travis Air Force Base in California. During her service, she received numerous awards and accolades, including recognition as Air Force Clinical Dentist of the Year for United States Armed Forces Europe, Field Grade Officer of the Year for the 48th Dental Squadron, as well as the Meritorious Service Medal and Air Force Commendation Medal. Following her military career, Dr. Anderson spent 14 years in private practice before returning home to Mankato.

CLINICAL INTERESTS

Her current clinical focus includes dental implants, facial and dentoalveolar trauma, pathology, hard and soft tissue grafting, and pre-prosthetic surgery.

AFFILIATIONS

Dr. Anderson is a board-certified diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and a fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. She is also a member of the American Dental Association and is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and Basic Life Support. Throughout her career, she has been recognized with multiple professional and military honors and has authored and presented on a variety of topics in oral and maxillofacial surgery.

HOBBIES/INTERESTS

Dr. Anderson is excited to return to Mankato with her husband, Aaron, and their three children (Elsa, Chet, and Soren). Outside of the practice, you will often find her experimenting in the kitchen, cheering on her kids’ sports teams, and giving back to the community.
