Meet Dr. Kevin E. Amundson
After graduating from high school in Winthrop, MN and then Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, MN, Dr. Amundson was accepted to the School of Dentistry at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, MN. He then completed a one year residency at St. Anthony Hospital in Denver, CO before finishing his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at the University of Minnesota.
After one year in Stevens Point, WI, Dr. Amundson returned home to join Dr. Richard Ogle and together they started the practice that today is known as Southeastern Minnesota Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Associates, P.A. (SEMOMS).
Dr. Amundson has a special interest in orthognathic surgery or surgical orthodontics and anesthesia.
Dr. Amundson is a member of the American and Minnesota Dental Associations, the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and the Minnesota and Midwestern Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He also served as the president of the Midwestern Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons in 1999-2000. As a board certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon, he continues to learn and grow in his knowledge and skill in the art and science of oral and maxillofacial surgery.
Dr. Amundson is married to Barbara Swisher-Amundson, they live in southwest Rochester, MN, and have four grown children.
