Meet Dr. Jill N. Merrill

Southeastern Minnesota Oral Surgeon, Dr. Jill Merrill

Education:

Dr. Jill Merrill graduated for Mounds View High School, Arden Hills, MN, and the University of Wisconsin in Madison, WI, with a BS in Zoology. She also graduated from the University of Minnesota, School of Dentistry and studied abroad at the University of Nijmegen, The Netherlands. Following that Dr. Merrill did her internship in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics, and her residency in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery at the University of Minnesota, School of Dentistry, and studied abroad at the Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, Aberdeen, Scotland.

Employment History:

Upon completing residency, Dr. Merrill took a position at the Medical college of Wisconsin, teaching residents in oral and maxillofacial surgery in the Milwaukee area. Following this she briefly moved back to the Twin Cities to join a private practice before coming to Southeastern Minnesota Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Associates in 2010 and work in our Rochester office.

Clinical Interests:

Dr. Merrills clinical interests include dentoalveolar surgery and anesthesia, benign pathology, facial trauma, and dental implants.

Affiliations:

Dr. Merrill is a Diplomat on the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial surgery, a Fellow on the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, a member of the Minnesota Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, the American Dental Association, and the Minnesota Dental Association.  She has served as president of the Southern District Dental Society and the South Central Dental Study Club.  Dr. Merrill is a co-chair of the oral surgery section of the MN Misson of Mercy.

Family:

Dr. Merrill lives in Rochester with her miniature dachshund, George.

Dr. Merrill enjoys cooking, reading, and camping.
