Dr. Richard Young

Education:

Dr. Rick Young graduated from the University of Iowa, College of Dentistry in 1981. Following a one year General Dentistry Residency at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, he practiced family dentistry in Burlington, IA for three years. He was then accepted as a resident in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

Employment History:

Dr. Young joined Southeastern Minnesota Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Associates in 1988.

Clinical Interests:

Dr. Youngs clinical interests include wisdom teeth removal, extractions, pre-prosthetic surgery, oral disease and pathology, dental implants, office-based anesthesia, and orthognathic (major jaw reconstructive) surgery.

Affiliations:

Dr. Young is a member of the American Dental Association, American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, Minnesota Dental Association, and Austin (MN) Dental Society.

Family:

Dr. Young and his wife, Carol, have 3 grown children.

Hobbies / Interests:

Dr. Young enjoys music especially quartet and choral group singing, reading, photography, cooking, and artisan bread making.
